The Park will be transformed into a brilliant holiday scene with luminaries, decorations and the spirit of Christmas.  The ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm and include holiday songs and entertainment by local dance groups. Mayor Marilyn Hatley will welcome attendees and begin the countdown to light the glorious 36-foot Christmas Tree.  The tree will be decorated with over 2,780 lights.
Once the tree has been lit, the children are invited to visit with Santa and receive a free bag of candy while the entertainment continues!  The North Strand Optimist Club will serve complimentary hot chocolate and refreshments. Bring the entire family for a fun Christmas celebration in North Myrtle Beach.

Pets Light Up Our Lives is an event to honor pets; past, present and future. Pet Parents are encouraged to bring their pets to the event. There will be refreshments and a Blessing of the Animals in addition to the tree lighting. All pets that attend will receive a Christmas gift.
Lights can be purchased for $10 per animal between now and December 13th in order to be listed in the commemorative program. Lights can be purchased as gifts for loved ones. White lights are for pets that have passed. Red light for those we have presently. Blue lights are for the future pets in The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach now.  Proceeds from the event will support The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach and its efforts in caring for the 195 homeless animals currently residing at the North Myrtle Beach Animal shelter, 409 Bay Street, North Myrtle Beach.
