Don’t Forget to Pack These Items When Headed to a Vacation Rental

Vacation condo rentals are growing in popularity for vacationers nationwide. More travelers than ever (about 24%) have stayed in vacation rentals as an alternative to a traditional hotel, and almost half of all travelers are interested in having the option. These leisure travelers are choosing vacation rentals and beach condos as they offer a better value for price, privacy, full kitchen facilities, and more space than a traditional hotel.

On top of planning a vacation, packing for a vacation can sometimes be a headache. So if you are headed to the beach and plan to stay in beach condo rentals, make sure not to forget these items!

How To Pack for Beach Vacation Rentals

All purpose cleanser and sponges

Your rental will not be cleaned everyday, so it is a good idea to bring some cleanser to clean up small messes throughout the house, especially if you have spill-prone kids with you. It is also a good idea for germaphobes who want to make sure the kitchen is spotless before you use it.

Extra kitchen supplies

Take advantage of your full kitchen and use it, but remember that some kitchen staples are not included when you check in. So it’s always a good idea to have extras like aluminium foil, some spices and herbs, garbage bags, paper plates and silverware, Ziploc bags, and coffee filters.

Baby equipment

Unless you checked first, most vacation rentals do not supply baby cribs or playpens. Call ahead or bring a collapsible one of your own.

Extra soap and shampoo

Even though you may find miniature bottles in your bathroom, they are not always enough.

Dishwashing supplies

If you choose not to go the paper and plastic route, these often forgotten items can be lifesavers. The best vacation rentals will supply everything you need to do the dishes, but it never hurts to ask if you should bring along things like dishwashing detergent, sponges, dish towels, a drying rack, and hand towels.

Bedding

When you rent beach condos, it is important to read your rental agreement carefully so you know exactly what linens are included. In some cases, you may be required to bring your own pillows, sheets, and blankets along with extra pillows, while in other cases you’ll have everything you need for a perfect night’s sleep.

Toys, games, and movies

Since there is more space in your rental than a hotel room, many families enjoy having family game night or choose to watch a movie after a long day at the beach. Bring lots of options, you never know what you’re going to be in the mood for!

Follow this list, and packing will be one less thing you have to worry about when preparing for your vacation. Go ahead, have a good time!
