“Build and program a working robot from a box of parts and pieces. This years robot challenge is Ultimate Ascent, in which student-built robots score points by throwing Frisbees into goals on a 27 by 54 foot playing field. The two minute and 15 second matches end with the robots attempting to climb pyramids for extra points.”

Welcome to our inaugural BFF (Breast Friends Forever) Pink Ribbon Run. This is a family friendly event with walking and running events for all. The Grand Strand Running Club will hold these Runs and Expo to benefit Susan G. Komen Lowcountry and other local cancer charities.

24th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival, Main Street, North Myrtle Beach 843-280-5570

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the largest parade on the Grand Strand with over 100 parade entries and a history that is unwavering. Masses of people line Main Street each year to get a glimpse of a magical parade that can only be experienced and not described. The parade begins promptly at 9:00 AM, but parade goers rise earlier to patron Main Street establishments in search of warm delights to keep their appetites at bay during the parade.  By 8:30 am most individuals have manned their posts and are eagerly directing family and friends to their “watching station”. Beach chairs, blankets, and golf carts line Main Street awaiting the start of a two-hour phenomenon. Two announcing stations are located along the parade route; in the median at BiLo Shopping Center and at the corner of Hillside Drive and Main Street. If you can’t make it to the parade be sure to check out the live broadcast on WPDE TV 15. Ed Piotrowski and others will guide you through a great day of fun. If a grand parade wasn’t enough, waiting at the end of Main Street is a festival you will not want to miss. Over 125 vendors will display their arts and crafts. Food vendors and Main Street businesses will have a variety of treats for everyone to enjoy. Two stages of continuous live entertainment will keep the Irish spirit in you all day. Bring the “wee” ones to enjoy the children’s area that is chocked full of rides and games for all ages. Festivities end at 4:00 PM, but before you leave, stop by the information tent and purchase a souvenir t-shirt to end your glorious day!

Downtown Myrtle Beach St. Patrick’s Day Celebration, Downtown Myrtle Beach Fourth annual downtown Myrtle Beach St. Patrick’s Day celebration – one of the biggest parties of the year in Myrtle Beach. Ocean Boulevard is blocked off for this event and families and revelers are free to walk and check out the variety of food, gift and drink vendors and live music. Fun games and contests will run throughout the day and a Kids Zone with a number of inflatables with keep the little ones busy and having a blast. This is an event you don’t want to miss! A variety of bands will play throughout the day including the Myrtle Beach Regional Pipe and Drum Band, Bullfrog, Paul Grimshaw Band, Austin Mowery Band, Passafire and Weaving the Fate. Family Fun Run – 8:30 a.m. 5K Kilt Run – 9:00 a.m. Dress comfortable for the run… but there will be bonus prizes for those who come in the St. Patrick’s Day Spirit! Race starts and ends at the entrance of the Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery at Broadway at the Beach. Following the race, enjoy an awards ceremony and kick off St. Patrick’s Day the right way with the party beginning at 10:00 a.m.! Breakfast buffet and one drink ticket (for those of the proper age) provided to all race participants.  Additional Breakfast Buffet tickets may be purchased for $10.00.  Registration will be held at Tilted Kilt on Saturday, 3/16 from 12-4 p.m. and on Sunday, 3/17 from 7-845 a.m. Fun Run participants must be registered by 8:15 a.m. on 3/17.

Grab your bicycle and join others for the 2013 Ride for the Inlet!
There are various rides to choose from for this non-race fun event:
8-mile ride: This ride goes through backroads to Wacca Wache Marina and is for any age including families!
26-mile ride: This ride will take you to Enterprise Boat Landing and is for adults only.
63-mile ride: This ride is the Metric Century ride which continues on from the Enterprise Boat Landing to Carolina Forest and returns from there. Riders that choose this course need to be used to road riding, pack riding and riding in traffic and is for adults only.
All participants must wear helmets and are invited to a post-ride meal at Grand Strand Bicycle Shop.

Patrons can enjoy sampling a large variety of beers during one of the three sessions of their choosing. The first one will by Friday, March 29 at 5 p.m. then there will be two on Saturday: one at 11:00 AM and a later one at 4:00 PM. Tickets for this event must be purchased ahead of time.

Hop on over to the Pyramid for the annual Breakfast with Buttons the Bunny!
